It's been so long...

I can't believe how long it has been! I have been working and loving life in so many ways that I have all but forgotten about this blog! I need to make it a point to make sure that I am on here more often... goodness... I'm so sorry.

My baby girl is growing up. She will be starting middle school this year and I don't know what to think about. My oldest girl is about to be a senior in HS and I'm panicking because in a few short months that will put 2 of my kids into the realm of adulthood! YIKES! I'm feeling old all of the sudden... thank goodness for the two middle boys who are still awkward teens LOL!

I have been working in a salon and it has been a blast. I took over as coordinator about a month ago and got to finally hire last week to help me out! Praise the Lord because I have been working my hind end off... loving every minute of it, but am desperately missing my kids and becoming very tired working over 50 hours a week! Check out where I work right here... Salon Expressions Day Spa! I find it humorous that I am a salon coordinator and my husband is a beauty supply manager, but hey, we help each other out and that's great!!! The more I can do with him the better... sure do love that guy.

That's the Bunny version of us...

Church has been going great! My love took over as the Children's Pastor this summer and the two of us head up the whole kid crew from birth to 5th grade! It's really just pretty amazing and I love what God is doing through us and for us in this ministry. I tell you what, there is so much to learn from these innocent little hearts! Some days I really feel like I am being taught far more than I could ever teach them and I love it! I couldn't ask for a better church and really love the sense of community that we share at Praise Center!

As always I'll be keeping you up to date on all my cool finds and fun stuff. I just wanted to give you a quick update on what has been going on in the Morgan household! Have an amazing weekend! We are off to a wedding in Oregon! Can't wait to take a fun little trip with the fam! God Bless!!!

Lost Your Marbles? I Found Them!

I keep seeing this all over the internet and am longing to try it on my own fence! This is so cute and looks like it would be a great way to fill in those ugly holes! I am just imagining how my yard is going to look with all these pretty colors shooting through!!!

I got this picture from TWISTED SIFTER which is a really cool site for anyone that loves the idea of upcycling :) You should really go check it out!!!

All you'll need for this is glass colored marbles in various sizes and some wood glue, or a waterproof craft glue would work good too... just try to get something that dries clear though!

Enjoy!

Bacon Wrapped Chicken Bliss

Oh my goodness... this is a super simple and outstanding dinner. It tastes like it took forever and oh so gourmet when really it only takes about 10 minutes to put together! Invite someone over for dinner tonight and enjoy this delectable main dish!

Here is what you need:

-6 large boneless skinless chicken breast cut in half (thighs would work as well)
-12 slices of bacon (the thick cut will not wrap near as well, go for the regular kind)
-Fresh ground black pepper
-Organic no salt seasoning (I buy the Kirkland brand from Costco, it's amazing!)

Taking each half wrap 2 strips of bacon around making sure that the ends are on the bottom. This will seal the bacon around the chicken as it bakes. No need to grease your pan because the bacon will keep it from sticking. Place the 6 portions in a 9x13 baking dish and bake at 350 for 40-50 minutes depending on the thickness of the chicken. When they are done you can either serve them up whole or they slice nicely to put on top of a salad. These are sooooo good! You won't believe it. It's super easy and very little mess!

Enjoy!

Detox and Relaxation Bath...

Have you ever had one of those days were you just feel blah? How about a day so stressful that you want to pull not just your own hair out, but everyone that you come in contact with's hair too? How about both? Yeah, we've all been there and as little fun as it is there is some relief out there... and the best part? You probably have everything that you need in your kitchen.

Recently I went on a full body detox. It was amazing for me in so many ways. It brought back life to my body that I didn't know I was missing. Not only did I drop some pounds, but my hair, skin and nails looked amazing. I have decided that I am going to do this for 3 days at a time once a month. I did a 3 week detox to restart my body. This is just one of the things that went along with the plan.

Detox Bath:

To the hottest water you can stand add:
1 cup Epsom Salt
1 cup Baking Soda
2 tablespoons Ginger Powder (grated ginger root or 4 ginger tea bags works too)

Soak in this bath for at least 20 minutes. Make sure that you have a glass of cold water with you because you will want to keep cool. It is said that 20 minutes is what it takes for your body to absorb enough of the minerals to start the detox. The longer you can hold out the better. DO NOT OVER DO IT! IF YOU START TO FEEL DIZZY GET OUT! Just like a hot tub... you'll know when you've had enough, don't push it!!!!

After you get out wrap hair in towel and your body in a warm bathrobe or blanket to keep your body warm. Do not put on lotion or oils when you get out because that will block your pores and seal in the toxins. It's best to do this at night so you can let it work it's magic over night, then shower the yucks off in the morning! Do this once every couple weeks!

You can add other herbs to this if you feel so inclined. These are the basics and are what get the job done. Hope it brings a little happiness to your life!

Enjoy!

A Fun Upcycle!

I found this neat idea on the Recycled Art Foundation page on Facebook!

I love bagel sandwiches but if I am not eating them at home it is hard to find a bag or container that fits them. I, personally would rather use a container because that way I'm not being wasteful and I honestly never would have thought of this! GENIUS!

How cool is this? We go through tons of cds because I am a picture junkie when it comes to my kids, family, friends, vacations, anything and I always knew that these would come in handy but wasn't sure for what. What's really cool is that I have a couple of the large ones from when we bought 100 count spindles of cds so I can pack 2 in one if we are going on a picnic!

Add a little variety to your lunch today!

Enjoy!

The GFPD

Along with the last post I made about baby Cash I would like you all to take a look at this site. They are  really a wonderful organization dedicated to helping families dealing with the same type of syndrome that my friends baby boy is struggling with.

The Global Foundation for Peroxisomal Disorders

I contacted this organization the day that I got confirmation of what was wrong with baby Cash. It was about 10 pm when I emailed them explaining what the diagnosis was. The next morning I had received an email and that afternoon I was called by the Family Support Group Coordinator, who also has a baby struggling with this problem. They are so loving and personal. Truly concerned about the heath and well being of not only the child, but of the family and friends. I urge you to check this out, learn about this disorder, and if you feel so inclined, donate. Someday there will be a cure. Lets make it sooner than later!

Something that has become dear to my heart...

I know that I have not posted anything in a long time... I could list of a million reasons why but I will spare you the agony of reading about my nitty gritty, save one thing.

A couple months ago our dear friends had a little baby boy. He is so cute and precious, a blessing in every way but unfortunately he was born with a really rare condition. It is called Zellweger Syndrome. He needs a feeding tube and an oxygen tube. He moves very little and can't cry very loud. His parents where actually told that he wouldn't make it to the new year... can I just say that one of the best things I've done in years was be there when the clock struck 12! What a great feeling to tell him Happy New Year!

I am affixing a link to the site where you can donate to this amazing little man. Check it out! Learn about this rare disease that has taken the lives of many little angles... thank you for spreading the word with me...
